As the sun set on New York, the hottest names in entertainment came out to play.
Yes that's right, The Met Ball kicked off last night and it was clear to see which of the guests embraced this years theme of Punk- Chaos to Couture and who didn't get the memo..
Studs and spikes were the winners of the night, along with the celebs who oh so happily pulled them off.
Even the evening's hair and makeup featured a predominance of punk touches with Nicole Richie and Anne Hathaway going as far to debut new hair shades proving just how fierce they really are! You go girls.

Sienna shined in an open back white Burberry dress with a studded cropped and spiked biker jacket, Burberry heels and a clutch to match. Her appearance – and outfit – fuelled more rumours that she will be the new face of the house, but as yet neither she nor Burberry are making any comment.

Beyonce may be successful in terms of ticket sales but not on the red carpet. After that fashion mishap last year, we were hoping for some self redemption but it seems not. Wearing a Givenchy Couture by Richard Tisci flame motif skirt with matching boots,which was held to her snakeskin corset by a studded belt. Too much? We think so too.

Taylor Swift
If she hasn't shed her cute teen image before, this will definitely help. Taylor was bang on trend in a J.Mendel black silk gown which boasted a beaded neckline and panels of spiderweb lace. Taking it one step further, she added pink highlights to her hair.

Kim Kardashian
First of all I have to say, here at rumour has it, we LOVE the Kardashians but Kimmy.. Really? I love you and all but I was not loving that outfit!!!
Kim dressed her bump in a garish Givenchy by Richard Tisci floral gown with matching gloves and shoes to attend the Gala with Kanye West.

Flashing flesh was also a major trend on the carpet with Cara Delevingne, Rosie Huntington Whitely and Rita Ora flying the flag for Britain.

Seems the 'wifeys' made a pact for the night to flash the flesh. The pair arrived at the Gala both showing a good bit of side boob. The model of the moment was perhaps trying to detract from all the attention surrounding her after she was photographed dropping a suspicious sachet of white powder.
Clothing giant H&M are currently investigating the claims of drug use as they operate a strict 'zero tolerance' policy against it.

Rosie had jaws dropping as she showcased her assets in a cleavage baring Gucci gown with a mesh bodice and olive hued skirt. The Victoria Secret model completed her look with a Art-Deco jewellery and placed delicate combs in her golden hair.
